Fishing

Situated on the banks of Lough Corrib and the River Cong is one of the most famous fisheries in all of Ireland. Covering 44,000 acres, Lough Corrib is the largest of the three lakes in the area and well known for its brown trout, salmon and pike fishing. Your Ghillie (guide), Frank Costello, is internationally recognised as one of the most knowledgeable experts on fishing Lough Corrib, having lived beside the lake his entire life.

Your experience

From fly fishing lessons to half and full day trips, our third generation Ghillie, Frank, will tailor your experience to suit your ability. Suitable for beginners and competent fishermen alike, the majority of fishing trips take place from hand-crafted 19ft clinker traditional wooden boats on Lough Corrib.

Opt for a full day experience and you will enjoy a picnic lunch on one of the islands and the chance to cook your catch. For competent fishermen, we also offer fishing on nearby Lough Mask and Lough Carra, or further afield in Connemara. The Cong River at the hotel is a great option for very experienced and able-bodied salmon fishermen.
