Billiards Room & Cigar Terrace

Retreat to The Billiards Room and enjoy a game of billiards, sink into comfy chairs with a glass of your favourite tipple. The traditional elegance of The Billiards Room, with its grand assortment of antique furniture and furnishings is a most welcome addition to the castle. With a full selection of cocktails, liqueurs and brandies, our experienced bar team also offer private whiskey and gin tasting experiences from 6pm to 8pm in The Billiards Room or 12pm to 5pm in The Prince of Wales Bar.

Craft gin tasting

Learn the secrets of the trade as you taste select craft gins from distilleries around the world, including the Gunpowder Irish Gin. You'll have the opportunity to craft your own miniature gin, using gin botanicals, which you will be able to take home.

Suitable for groups of up to 10 people. Gin tastings can be booked daily, subject to availability.

The Cigar Terrace

On a rooftop corner of the castle, discover The Cigar Terrace with fantastic views overlooking the River Cong and beyond. With a locally made feature awning, low glass tables, wrought iron chairs and a flagstone floor, the terrace is a beautifully designed space to relax in a wonderful setting overlooking the river Cong.

Enthusiastic cigar connoisseurs will delight in Mr Tollman's limited cigar collection including a millennium edition from Habanos in a commemorative ceramic jar, Montecristo 'A', Cohiba Esplindidos and Partagas Lusitanias, which can be enjoyed on the adjoining Cigar Terrace.

Private events

The Cigar Terrace is a popular public space, but is also a favourite spot for private parties, accommodating up to 30 people standing with the option to hire a DJ. Enjoy a whiskey or wine tasting in The Billiards Room then retreat to the terrace on warm summer evenings to soak up the magnificent surroundings.
